Parking at Vangarde Shopping Park on a Match Day

What is changing and why on Match Days?

Match days will see a reduction in the maximum stay from 4 hours down to 2 hours between 9am – 6pm.

At present ‘match days’ are classed as such when York City FC and York City Knights first teams are playing.

This is a requirement as part of the Travel Plan for the shopping park and enables the customer service team onsite to manage the car parking for our shoppers.

Customers can extend their parking time up to a maximum of 6 hours on any day including match days by validating their parking by spending a minimum amount at Vangarde Shopping Park. This will allow customers to stay on site longer and also benefit from all the new leisure facilities next door at Vangarde Leisure.

The 6 hours parking option is to encourage our customers to enjoy their shopping trip with no rush and to stay comfortably without worrying about running out of parking time. It also helps the customer service team prevent non-customers using our car parking for commuting purposes or all-day parking.

Signage onsite will remind our visitors about the parking restrictions and options of extending your stay.  (Please see our main parking page for more information). On match days there are also A Boards along with the walkways to highlight that ‘today is a match day’ plus banners within the car park too.

In order to extend your stay, we require customers to show proof of purchase from any of our stores, café’s, or restaurants at Vangarde Shopping Park.

A parking validation voucher will be issued, and the parking can then be validated by scanning the voucher and inputting the vehicle registration at one of the validation machines located along the main walkway.

Alternatively customers can also validate by adding their registration via a tablet which the customer service team will have access to in the Management Suite (located next door to Prezzo).

M&S and NEXT will also be able to issue parking validation vouchers to their customers on match days, so please speak to a member of staff within those stores for assistance if required.
