AN Opticians in York is offering free eye tests to York residents – and reminding them that regular exercise can help prevent the deterioration of eyesight over time.

Optometrists at M&S York say that research shows exercise can help can help to reduce the risk of developing age related eye conditions.

The shop, at Vangarde, Monks Cross, is offering free eye tests to help identify any eye defects and diseases early.

Mohammed Bhuta, Optometrist at M&S York said: “Eye health is determined by a combination of factors, including diet, exercise, lifestyle and genes.”

“Although we can’t influence our genes, there is no doubt leading a healthier lifestyle after indulging over the holiday period improves your overall health, but sticking to resolutions a little longer can benefit your eye health.”
