Grate news for Vangarde Shopping Park as specialist cheese company opens stall outside Next up until Christmas Eve

Cheese lovers throughout York are so excited that they camembert it after a popular specialist cheese company opened a stall at Vangarde Shopping Park.

York cult favourite Love Cheese has launched a pop up at the shopping park as customers gear up for the festive season. Harry Baines, who owns Love Cheese, has heralded the introduction of the stall as the beginning of the Love Cheese takeover in York.

The stall is selling a mixture of artisan cheese, gift sets, homeware, pies, sweet treats and much more. After opening on 12th November, the stall has seen an overwhelming response from the public, both at Vangarde and on social media.

Love Cheese was taken over by cheese-lovers Harry and Phoebe Baines in September 2015. They fell in love with the shop in the back-streets of York and decided to take it on as their own. With a passion for serving quality food and drink, Harry and Phoebe transformed Love Cheese into the home of local, British and continental cheeses that it is today.

Harry said: “We are proud to be hosting a stall at Vangarde Shopping Park as we are able to widen the awareness of the Love Cheese name and this also allows us to expand our ever-expanding customer base – this is just the beginning of our Love Cheese takeover.

“In partnering with Vangarde, it gives our customers an opportunity to have more than one place to buy their festive treats. The response so far has been overwhelming, and we’re excited for the next few weeks.

“Due to popular demand, we are urging customers to place an order before 15th December (in order) to guarantee their Christmas cheeses.”

Deborah O’Donnell, Vangarde Shopping Park centre manager, said: “The addition of Love Cheese at Vangarde gives our customers a special added extra that will complement their Christmas shopping.”

“We’ve already seen such a positive response from visitors to the shopping park and we’re sure that it will continue to be popular until Christmas Eve.”

The original store is based in Gillygate in York, only a stone’s throw away from the historic York Minster. The store has been attracting cheese-lovers from across Yorkshire for just over three years. As part of their expansion plans, the team has catered for special events, such as weddings and parties.

Love Cheese has set up shop outside Next right up until Christmas Eve, allowing shoppers plenty of time to purchase gifts. Customers can visit the stall at the Park or place an order online to collect at their earliest convenience.
The stall is open from 10am – 6pm on Monday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm Sunday and 10am – 4pm on Christmas Eve.
