Eboracum sponsors police challenge focused on benefitting local community
York security firm Eboracum is encouraging young people between the ages of 10 to 17 to take part in the North Yorkshire Police Lifestyle 2017 challenge after sponsoring the Summer competition.
The Lifestyle 2017 challenge is open to all who live in York or North Yorkshire within the specified age range – encouraging participants to create local community initiatives which ultimately benefit people within the North Yorkshire catchment area.
Last year’s challenge saw projects such as tidying up a wood in East Cowden, clearing a church yard in Bubwith and visiting care homes in York. The project is aimed at giving these young people good things to do during the Summer holidays – giving them opportunities to win prizes for their work.
Eboracum, which provides security services for Vangarde Shopping Park, will be sponsoring the challenge as part of its dedication to further benefitting the community through a mix of on-site and sponsored activities. Eboracum provides both cleaning and security services for the shopping park – with both organisations linking up through a host of community initiatives throughout 2017.
Vangarde Shopping Park has already worked closely with charities such as York Against Cancer on a wide variety of campaigns, as well as dedicating both store and security teams to take part in the Big Clean Up each year.
Carl Nickson, Director for Eboracum, said: “The North Yorkshire Police Lifestyle 2017 Challenge is a great initiative which encourages young people to do good in their community and be rewarded for their hard work. Initiatives such as this match the ethos of Eboracum and this is a local initiative that we want to support as much as we can.
“The competition encourages young people to get involved with community projects and demonstrates the importance of partnership working early on in life.”
