Excellent start to year for Vangarde Shopping Park after award win
Vangarde Shopping Park has won a coveted customer service award for the second time in three years.
The York-based shopping park, which includes John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and Next, won a Revo ACE Award in the retail park category, an award which recognises excellence in customer service in retail destinations.
In 2015, the same year Vangarde first won the accolade against other shopping parks across the UK, a member of the Vangarde team was shortlisted for a British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) ACE Star Award for Customer Service. This year, Carl Bailey from the Vangarde team was shortlisted for an ACE Star Award, scoring 100% on his mystery shopper visit.
The judging process was rigorous, with each retail destination in the category tested for their response on social media, response to emails and ease of access to information on the website. Once shortlisted, the team were visited by mystery shoppers to judge their customer experience while at the shopping park.
Deborah O’Donnell, Centre Manager for Vangarde Shopping Park, said: “We are incredibly proud to have won such a prestigious award for the hard work we put into delighting customers every day. This is shown through the fact that Carl ranked as a finalist in the ACE Star Awards, which recognises the fantastic individual achievements in shopping centre teams.
“Considering the retail competition surrounding us today, customers’ shopping needs are more sophisticated and shopping environments like ourselves continually need to exceed expectations and offer the best service.”
Carl said: “Not only is customer service important to us, but we always strive to achieve better each time to further ensure the customers’ shopping experience is safe and as enjoyable as possible with us every time.
“I am proud to be a finalist in a national awards and as a team, we will continue to ensure our customer service is the highest standard it can be.”
