York shopping park teams up with British Heart Foundation as part of charity initiative
A York shopping park is continuing to show that it is at the heart of the community by taking part in the British Heart Foundation’s Bag it, Beat it campaign.
Vangarde Shopping Park is challenging its staff and visitors to the shopping park by encouraging them to get involved in the British Heart Foundation’s donation challenge to help fund vital heart research.
The shopping park is encouraging everyone from secret hoarders to clutter clearers to join in, bag up their unwanted items and donate them as part of the Bag it, Beat it event on 19th and 20th September.
Vangarde Shopping Park is working with the Bridge Street store as part of this campaign, which is part of a month-long initiative by the British Heart Foundation
Katie Featonby, store manager at the British Heart Foundation Bridge Street store, said: “We are very excited to be joining forces with Vangarde Shopping Park to host our Bag it Beat it challenge – it gives us the opportunity to get out into the community and gives everyone an opportunity to contribute towards something which could make a massive difference towards research which could save lives.
“It is so crucial for us to collect donations as we rely on the public to raise funds for this research and we definitely could not do it without them.”
Deb O’Donnell, Vangarde Shopping Park Centre Manager, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with the British Heart Foundation for this great event as it carries out such important work. The charity makes a difference to so many people across the country and these types of events ensure that they can continue to help anyone with a heart condition.
“Not only will our staff and customers be able to clear out their clutter, but they have the opportunity to support this brilliant cause and we will continue to support the community through working with charities and community-based organisations.”
