Team members at sustainable shopping park take part in citywide cleanliness scheme
Staff at an environmentally-friendly shopping park are setting cleanliness examples by taking part in a York scheme to clean up public areas.
Members from Vangarde’s customer service team, along with three team members from Marks and Spencer, will be dedicating their own time on Saturday March 28th to be part of the Big Clean Up, a City of York Council initiative to promote volunteering opportunities and spruce up the city.
Vangarde Shopping Park is notorious for its environmentally sustainable features, with solar powered buildings, a green wall and sustainable measures to reduce the retail park’s carbon footprint. The shopping park has also been noted for its cleanliness.
Deb O’Donnell, Vangarde Shopping Park Centre Manager, said: “We are delighted to be taking part in such a great initiative such as the Big Clean Up.
“Vangarde Shopping Park has always prided itself in its clean standards, so we thought it was important to take part in an initiative which benefits the city as a whole.
“We are always looking at ways we can involve ourselves in citywide initiatives and we are looking forward to taking part on Saturday.”
This year’s Big Clean Up will include a range of businesses, charitable organisations, community groups and residents cleaning up playgrounds, public areas and even the A64.
