Outstanding year for Vangarde Shopping Park after award shortlisting for customer service team member

Vangarde Shopping Park is celebrating another success story after John Entwistle was shortlisted for a British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) ACE Star Award for Customer Service.

The entire Vangarde team and all its individual members were nominated for the award, which recognises outstanding customer service from shopping centres across the country.

This is just another in a line of successes for Vangarde Shopping Park after its shortlisting in the BCSC Gold Awards in the New Centre category due to its sustainable ethos and outstanding construction to improve energy efficiency.

John said he was delighted to be in contention for the award.

He said: “To be shortlisted for an award such as this is an honour. The nomination was fantastic, but the fact that I have been recognised as a person that provides a high level of customer service means a lot.

“There is now another round of vigorous judging but I am looking forward to the challenge.

“This shortlisting demonstrates the hard work we put into providing the highest levels of customer service here at Vangarde and I am looking forward to seeing if I have won early next year.”
John started working at Vangarde when it opened on April 10th, and is employed by facilities management company AEJ. Before coming to work at Vangarde, John was a part time cleaner.

He had never worked in a shopping centre environment before Vangarde and was a cleaner at the shopping park until November 1st when he was promoted to Team Leader due to his enthusiasm and hard work.

Vangarde Shopping Park Centre Manager Deb O’Donnell said: “We are very proud of John’s shortlisting in these awards.

“He is very deserving of this due to his high levels of enthusiasm he puts into his work every day and that reflects through to the customers.

“This year has seen great levels of success at Vangarde Shopping Park. Even though we opened in April, we have made some great strides in the regional retail sector and I am delighted with the results.”
