Take back scheme launches for unwanted PC, laptop, smartphone at John Lewis
John Lewis is teaming up with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to give customers the opportunity to donate their used laptops, tablets, PC’s and mobile phones to a good cause.
Customers are invited to bring their electrical goods in store where data on functioning devices will be erased free of charge using software from technology company Blanca.
The BHF will re-sell any suitable devices, donating 100 per cent of the profits to their life saving research to fight coronary heart disease, the UK’s single biggest killer. Electrical goods which can’t be reused will be recycled responsibly.
The trial, which will run until the end of August, will take place at the John Lewis shops in Leeds and York.
